BERTHAJU is a female gaze indie punk band from The Netherlands & Germany. By taking inspiration from mostly male punk-rock groups like Viagra Boys, and mixing it with the attitude of Wet Leg, BERTHAJU is what you get.

2025 marked a big year for the band. BERTHAJU played over 37 shows, including their first UK tour, and was selected for Popronde 2025, racking up more than 20 bookings across the Netherlands. Along the way, they supported acts such as Bilk, Min Taka, and Overpass, further proving their reputation as a must-see live band. They also released their second self-produced EP Tickets to the Cinema, marking their vinyl debut.

In 2026, BERTHAJU shows no signs of slowing down.

After kicking off the year with their first tour across Germany and teaming up with Mattan / Shai Records, the band returns with the first single from their upcoming EP "5 YEAR PLAN".

 

The release introduces a heavier, grungier, and more punk-driven sound, giving a first look into the direction of the record. It was met with strong reactions, earning radio play across the Benelux and gaining attention from Spotify editorial playlists.

Their new EP "5 YEAR PLAN" will be delivered on 08/10/2026.
