BERTHAJU is a female-gaze indie rock artist from Rotterdam and Bonn (DE). Along with songs about old white men getting divorced and caring less about what other people think, you can expect a full-on show with choreography, and a bass player breaking his legs while jumping. BERTHAJU is not leaving the stage until everyone is sweating and dancing their ass off.

 

Releasing her self-written and produced debut EP called BFC@18° an preparing for her next , BERTHAJU is not only responsible for crafting 20 different final master versions (even though only one will see the light of day). No, she takes matters into her own hands, filling the gap of female producers in the industry.

 

Her overall “the univers will not serve it to you on a gold plate” approach has given her the confidence to direct and shoot music videos on her own and plan her first European tour.

With seven shows in the UK at the beginning of the year, support slots for BILK and Min Taka, as well as first festival appearances and being part of the newcomer festival Popronde, it’s clear: there’s plenty more to come. Many singles and a new EP in October are not to be missed.
